Relatives of yours may live, study, and work in Canada if they become permanent residents.
You may sponsor relatives to come to Canada if you are at least 18 years old and a Canadian citizen or person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act or you’re a permanent resident of Canada.
Relatives include a spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner, dependent child (including adopted child), parent, grandparent, and in some instances, other.
Please note that when you sponsor a relative to come to Canada as a permanent resident, you are financially responsible for them. They should not seek financial assistance from the government.
