A Canadian study permit allows foreign nationals to study at designated learning institutions (DLI) in Canada. These permits are valid for the length of your study program, plus an extra 90 days.
Study in Canada
During those 90 days, you may prepare to leave Canada or apply to extend your stay.
The Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) is a great option to extend.
Keep the following in mind when you are applying for a study permit in Canada:
• You must demonstrate that you have enough money to pay for your tuition fees, living expenses (for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada), and for return transportation (for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada)
• You must be a law-abiding citizen with no criminal record and not be a risk to the security of Canada
• You must also be in good health and willing to undergo a medical examination if required
